Businesses being urged to improve security after Letterkenny and Laghey break-ins

 

Gardai are urging business people to review their security systems following a break-in at Kernan’s Filling Station at Tullygay near New Mills on the outskirts of Letterkenny.
A quantity of cash was taken, along with a number of other items.
Access was gained through the roof, in what gardai believe was a well planned operation, which involved removing the CCTV system.
Gardai are also looking at whether this incident is linked to a break in six days earlier in Laghey.

Crime Prevention officer Sergeant Wallace says both these incidents point to the need for better security in all businesses.
He says both incidents bore striking similarities…………
