Playwright Brian Friel will be laid to rest tomorrow.
The Tyrone born author died in his Inishowen home yesterday morning at the age of 86.
Known the world over for his work Friel is survived by his wife Anne and their five children.
Last night, he was honoured with the traditional posthumous standing ovation at An Grianan Theatre in Letterkenny, after an emotional tribute from Theatre Director Patricia Mc Bride.
He’ll be buried tomorrow in Glenties, the inspiration for the fictional town of Ballybeg where much of his work was set.
