Sommer Lecky wins Bronze at European Youth Olympics

Finn Valley’s Sommer Lecky has won bronze at the European Youth Olympics in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The Castlederg girl cleared the same height as the eventual winner at 1.80 metres but was denied the High Jump Gold on countback.
It been a good week for Sommer who also won gold at the recent Schools Track and Field International in Scotland.
Lecky’s club mate Arlene Crossan was also in action today and finished 9th in the final of the Long Jump.
Finals continue on Friday for Donegal athletes, Lifford’s Brendan O’Donnell throws in the Hammer and Glenfin’s Aaron Mc Glynn will run the 800m decider.
In this mornings Cycling 43k Road Race, Letterkenny’s Shauna Mc Fadden and Dunlewey’s Amanda Gallagher were competing.
Shauna came home in 51st place 39 seconds behind the winner from Italy in 1hr 19mins while Amanda was place 60th in 1hr 22mins.
