Police appeal for info on Derry hotel gunpoint robbery

evergladesPolice are appealing for witnesses after a hotel in Derry was robbed by a man with a suspected firearm who made off with cash.
The armed robbery happened at the Everglades Hotel on Prehen Road on Sunday evening.
At around 6.05pm on Sunday it was reported that an unknown male, carrying a suspected firearm, entered the hotel on the Prehen Road and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have seen any person or vehicle acting suspiciously in the area to contact Detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
The man is described as being aged in his 30’s, with black coloured hair and thick greying stubble. He had a Southern accent and was wearing a black coloured hooded top and dark coloured jeans.
Police are also keen to speak with anyone who saw a white coloured Volkswagen Passat in the area of the hotel at the time of the robbery.
