Donegal Council Chairman given leave to challenge Minster’s windfarm directive

Cllr-John-CampbellThe Chairperson of Donegal County Council has been granted leave to appeal a direction from the Minister for the Environment overturning a decision by the Council to impose new conditions on windfarms
In June the council agreed to a set back distance ten times the tip height of turbines from residential properties and other population centres.
Measures to protect the pearl mussel were also included in the development plan.
However in August Minister Alan Kelly issued a detailed directive overturning the Councils decision.
Chairman John Campbell has welcomed a High Court decision this week to allow him appeal that directive:
