Update – Almost 900 students have accepted first round offers at LYIT

The CAO has published the second round of offers for college courses this morning, with over three thousand applicants are getting new offers.
At Letterkenny Institute of Technology, the biggest drop for a Level 8 Honours Degree course is in Destination Tourism with Marketting in Killybegs, which has seen the required points fall from 295 to 167.
Meanwhile, Law at the Letterkenny campus has fallen from 285 to 230 points, and Early Childhood Care, Health and Education has falled by five to 270.
The points requirements for three Level 7 Ordinary Degree courses has fallen, most sharply in Animation, where the points requirement has gone from 225 to 145.
The Computer Security and Digital Forensics degree has also seen a fall, from 220 to 185, and Health and Social Care has seen the necessary points fall from 300 to 270.
LYIT President Paul Hannigan has confirmed that almost 900 new students have already accepted places at the institute, and over 250 new offers have gone out in the second round.
He says the coming academic year is shaping up to be a very successful one, and for people who have not got the courses they wanted, there are still options available……….
