Thieves have stolen a significant amount of overhead cable from telegraph poles in Carndonagh.

Around 30 homes in the  area were left without a landline after the incident earlier this week.

Gardai said the cable was cut at both ends with bolt cutters before it was removed.

Eircom are currently working on the probelm.
