Pio McCann wins CMA International Broadcaster Award

Highland Radio’s Pio Mc Cann, was recently presented with the highly regarded International Broadcaster Award by the CMA. The ultimate radio broadcasting award was given to Pio, just before an Irish showcase concert at the Sommet Center Plaza Stage in downtown Nashville, during the CMA Music Festival.

“I’m hugely honoured to receive such a prestigious award from the CMA – one of the best days of my life,”said Pio. “It makes me proud to be a part of the musical bridge between Nashville and Ireland.”

Pio Mc Cann has been a radio broadcaster for almost 30 years, the past 19 of which have been here, on Ireland’s number one rated independent station, Highland Radio. Pio has interviewed many international superstars over the years on Highland Radio including Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, George Jones, Glen Campbell, Vince Gill, Reba Mc Entire and Dolly Parton. He has also been very instrumental, in helping new emerging talent, on their way to success in the music business, both nationally and internationally.
